The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced that with the approval of the Chief Executive in Council, the Financial Secretary has decided under section 3(1) of the Legal Tender Notes Issue Ordinance to issue for trial a $10 polymer note.

The new note will be issued by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region .
